POPsocial partnered with MAS Event and Design and Youtube to make waves at 2018 #SXSW Interactive Festival.
This year, Youtube presented “The Greatest Stories Retold”, an installation inside its Story HQ space. To show the power of its 6 and 15 second ads, they had 13 creative agencies transform classic fairy tales like Cinderella into interactive, short-form stories. Their goal was to demonstrate forms of effective storytelling that resonates with consumers and can generate greater brand recall.
To bring these stories to life onsite for the public and SXSW attendees, POPsocial re-created a scene from BWA/Chiat/Day LA’s reimagined Cinderella with a custom build out using a 20’ backdrop, a classic Fiat 124 and props to dress up for the role. Over the 2-day weekend, attendees were able to star in their own 6-second video spots with a pre-scripted branded edit.
